This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help our tone!!!! The mouthpieces that come with our instruments are insufficient for producing good tone.

My students attend an inner city public school, in an economically depressed area.

My students worry about what they are going to eat next, and where are they going to live when their family gets evicted, again. For most students, school is the most secure aspect in their lives.

My Project

I have several very enthusiastic clarinet and saxophone players. They practice and work hard, but there equipment is inadequate. The biggest thing holding them back is the mouthpieces that came with their instruments. You might not believe how big of a difference this makes, but I'm telling you it is of great importance. A good quality mouthpiece not only sounds better, but makes the instrument easier to play.

If my students are going to make it through college, they are going to have to rely on grants, loans, and scholarships.

Playing an instrument gives them one more tool in their "bag" to help make this dream a reality. Please help playing an instrument be easier for them.
