My Students

Having the equipment but not the supplies to use it, is very frustrating. I have a Mimio Interactive board for my classroom. Adding thirteen Interactive CD-Roms to my classroom would enrich my students.

My students attend school in one of the poorest counties in Kansas.

Our free and reduced lunch count soars over 50%. Our school also qualifies for Title I services. Due to budget crunches our district recently closed two elementary schools and centrally located our classrooms on one campus in modulars. Although this has proved to save money for our district, we are still feeling the crunch. This leaves little to spend on classroom improvement.

My Project

Interactive white boards have added another element of teaching to my classroom. Currently we use programs from the internet like starfall.com and Tumble Books. But the use of our interactive boards is very limited to what I can use online. I would like to make my interactive boards more effective by adding thirteen reading and math CD-Roms to our classroom. They are all skill specific and will help me target the skills we work on in our curriculum.

This project is so important to me, because I feel that interactive boards are a way for me to incorporate technology into my classroom.

To combine both technology and targeted assistance to my students is a goal I very much want to achieve. Thank you for any help you can give to my classroom.
