Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach Accounting Three Honors students and they are in grades 11 and 12. Our district is a very low income/high poverty area and we need your help greatly.

Our school district has no money for supplies of any kind. My students are very eager to learn and have we have no means to get to an end result. They are very interested in learning how to calculate mortgage payments over 30 years, etc., as well as amortization. This will help them prepare for their future as potential homeowners, as well as learning how items depreciate over time.

We need mechanical pencils and financial calculators. These supplies will greatly help our class out with doing their financial ratios, financial statements, etc. This will really prepare them for college - which is my ultimate goal as their teacher.

Your help will not only ensure that my students will reach their accounting goals in class, but also their goals of preparing themselves for college - and beyond. You will make it possible for my students to really grasp the concept of what a mortgage is, how it works over time and how they can word towards achieving such a goal in their own lives.
