This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Physical activity is a huge importance in our school. We are challenged with a very small gym and limited supplies. The only sport students get to play is basketball. Help introduce hockey to urban youth.

Our students attend an open enrollment, low income public charter high school that opened September 2011.

The school was formerly an elementary school so it has a very small gymnasium. The majority of the students have only been exposed to the sport of basketball.

My Project

With the equipment requested students will be able to complete a floor hockey unit which will teach students basic skills and knowledge about hockey. If will give the students a chance to engage in an enjoyable physical activity that almost all of them have never participated in.

Please help our students engage in a sport that is new to them.

We currently only have equipment to play basketball. Your help will give students a chance to experience the sport of hockey.
