Rest time is a period where our students let their bodies take a break from the long day they've had. Since our healthy school works our students' minds as well as their bodies, rest time is an important part of our day. But our mats are old, torn, and dirty. Our kids desperately need new ones.
At our healthy school in New York, our students are educated about a healthy diet and the importance of exercising.
During rest time for our per-kindergarten students, we stress the importance of resting our bodies. We do our best to provide them with a place to rest, but time has rendered our mats almost unusable. Our students are very young and they listen to our words because they trust us. Their parents value education and respect teachers greatly, and they also believe in us to provide their child with the best quality education. It is my duty to provide it for every child.
My Project
I am asking for donations to fund 18 resting mats that my students need. Currently, we have 16 worn out mats that have been reused for the past 2 years. The two students that do not have mats are using yoga mats that are very uncomfortable to sleep on. If this project gets funded, our students will have clean and comfortable mats that will allow them to rest their bodies after an active day. We've already started to get our students to eat healthy food and realize the importance of staying active. With this project, they will finally be able to give their bodies the appropriate rest they need.
If this project gets funded, our students will receive new resting mats.
This will show our students the importance of resting their bodies. Most of our kids are able to rest with their current worn mats, but new mats will allow all of them to rest more easily.
