This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What could be more fun for a child than building and flying your own model rocket?

We are a Title 1 school and my students come from a diverse background.

Most of my students are from low income families and are on free lunch programs. They are wonderful children and very eager to learn. This after school program will give these children an opportunity to explore and learn something they could not afford on their own.

My Project

The after school rocket club will be an excellent opportunity for students to have a fun, safe after school learning experience. The students will be working in small, supervised groups building their own rocket. After rocket completion the students will be able to launch their rockets on the playground.

The students will be learning about gravity, space exploration, construction, science safety and life long skills including team work and problem solving.

Your donation will make this after school program possible to students who otherwise could not afford this opportunity.
