My Students

How much fun is it to learn to cook! My students are wanting to learn new skills in the kitchen, but need some basic protective gear to achieve their goals. Some basic gear and protective equipment will allow the students to become more experienced cooks, and learn new vocational skills.

Students are taking culinary arts classes to learn basic cooking skills and learn about working in the culinary arts fields.

Students attend school for the Blind or School for the Deaf, to and take this beginning culinary arts class to explore cooking and learn about what it takes to become a chef. A relatively new program, we are short of some basic supplies to keep the students clean and neat during class and to remain safe while using the ovens.

My Project

Students will be able to complete cooking labs using the new aprons and hats. They can use the oven safely with new mitts and oven protectors. Our students are very motivated to learn to cook for themselves, and to learn about working in the culinary arts fields. We are lacking these basic supplies which will let them do more cooking and learn these essential skills for survival on their own.

Cooking for yourself is an essential life function, and basic protective wear will allow the students to learn these important life long skills.

Students love working in the kitchen and learning new skills. It allows them to improve their abilities and earn much needed self esteem.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
