Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Traveling the world is a great experience for all, but How many people have really traveled extensively? When my students arrive at the beginning of the semester, their travel experiences are mostly limited, very limited, but by the end of the year they feel they have traveled the world.

It is interesting that most of the students are from all over the world, but haven't traveled much since settling down in the United States.

I teach at a Title One School. The test scores average just above the 800 mark, but the students range from low to very high. There is around one thousand, seven hundred students.

My Project

The teaching of geography is more that just locating a country on a map and memorizing some facts and statistics. Students learn more when the studies include history, architecture, art, culture, food, customs and holidays, etc. They can retain more when the experiences are brought to life with doing an art project, learning a recipe, tasting the food, etc. The items requested will help with the student with their projects. After several countries have been presented, they will chose, research, and present in pairs.

Many people actually have a list of "To Do" before they die.

Traveling the world is on the top of the list for many people Unfortunately not everyone gets to cross this off the list. With my help and the help of donors, I can help students feel that the have traveled the world.
