My Students

Do you remember all those wonderful, creative projects and activities you did as a student in school? Help students use technology to create personal, inspiring projects, and share cherished memories by taking digital photos to create personal memory books and web pages.

My students in third grade love to explore and learn through projects that are hands-on and creative.

Our school is a traditional elementary school in California, but we are not traditional in the way we learn. We love to become part of history through simulations, get our hands messy with science, and get constructive in math. Literature has us interviewing novel characters in a T.V. show and writing letters to authors. Learning takes on a whole new dimension for us - and we love it!

My Project

By having a digital camera in the classroom we can take photos and create personal memory books for each student to keep for a lifetime. Our students will be able to remember each activity and the lessons learned by reviewing the pages of their scrapbook. Photos are also shared on-line on our classroom webpage with parents and those family members who live far away. Sharing their learning experiences with grandparents and parents opens up a whole new love of learning. The kids really get excited when dad in Korea gets to be involved with his child's learning. Students also get to express their creativity in creating published pieces through the use of technology by importing photos on projects and writing pieces.

Students love adding photos to their personal writing to bring their stories to life.

When writing a biography of a family member they are able to use technology to add a photo so their published piece looks professional. By having a digital camera we are able to bring excitement and technology to learning. Students are also able to share their classroom experiences on-line with family members and create personal memory books of their fabulous third grade year!
