This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Action! The professional actors of Ms. E's 3rd grade class perform some pretty dramatic productions, but are missing the professional camera to match.

Mr. E's class is always an exciting group.

This is one of the bilingual classes, so our students are Hispanic, and speak both English and Spanish. Being a Title One school, almost all are below the poverty line, yet come from very supportive families. Our school is an IB World School, trying to provide a first class education with a international perspective tied in. Please please please - go to our youtube channel and watch some movies from previous years. The level of professionalism these kids reach is amazing. My Project

I'm really interested in getting a camcorder for these productions that will enhance the video quality of the music videos, class movies, performances, etc. that we do. The level of comprehension that these students attain through production is amazing. They write their own scripts and rehearse for class movies. They shine on camera when they are shy in real life. It is amazing to see the confidence built, the fluency grow, the creativity spark, and the literacy comprehension develop!

This camera is the first step towards a production set that I really want to take to the next level.

We live in a media consuming age, and what better way to help students weave through all the bad media by providing examples of positive media for them to actively create. Another equal reason for this project are the literacy skills that are sharpened and increased.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
