My Students

Do you remember the wonder and curiosity that you felt as a child when you planted and grew your own seeds? It was an amazing feeling to watch plants grow and learn about environmental science, that is the feeling that I want to instill in my third graders, help us promote environmental awareness!

I have 24 amazing students who wish to make both their school and their rural community a better place to live in.

They want to plant and grow their own trees, they want the sense of making a difference not only in their community, but making an impact on saving our planet. My students are so deserving and come to school always wanting to help others and are greatly looking forward to promoting environmental awareness throughout their rural community outside of Texas. My student population is extremely diverse and composed primarily of lower economically disadvantaged children. Many of my students are ELL learners and require a great deal of visual aids to learn. But, even with these setbacks, my students are motivated and are always ready to learn and take on new challenges in life. My students love science, but our learning of science is limited to textbooks, paper, and pencil. Allow them portable modern technology to conduct their Disney Planet project by getting us an iPad2!

My Project

My students are extremely excited about being able to work hands-on to grow and plant trees around their rural community this year. But, in order to research and record our findings we need a wireless iPad 2 that will allow us the portability to carry it both inside and outside. We will be able to use it to graph our data of tree growth, journal our research, and track daily growth of our trees, take pictures of our plants, and most importantly my students will have the opportunity to work with modern technology outdoors in cooperative groups and touch technology that many have never even heard of. We are also extremely excited about our school science fair and need trophies and certificates to give to students for conducting their environmental, life, physical, and biological science projects. Giving our students incentives will motivate them to think outside the box. We need small tokens of appreciation for our students to encourage them to explore the great world of science

Your donation will allow my students to work with modern technology, work in groups, and connect to the internet and submit our Disney portfolio.

In addition this project will also allow my students to study about, explore, and engage them in ways that only science can. It will encourage our students to continue to pursue the world of science and to never give up by receiving science fair awards! Help my students become future scientists by allowing them to work with technology and be rewarded!
