I teach at a wonderful middle school in North Carolina where we scrounge for supplies in order to keep our students engaged in the science concepts taught in school. The students absolutely love learning about the earth, moon, and sun. We need materials to help us make connections.
Our school is in North Carolina where we have many students who are struggling to bring pencils to school daily.
These students definitely need to be engaged in learning to give them opportunities to expand their thinking. Most of the students come from low-socioeconomic backgrounds and aren't afforded the opportunities many can get in life. These students rarely learn about things outside of the town we live in.
My Project
We will be analyzing the components and cycles of the solar system, compare and contrast the Earth to other planets, and relate the influence of the sun and the moon's orbit to the gravitational effects produced on Earth. Some of the materials I am requesting will allow students to have visual aids such as the posters, the solar system game will help with learning facts about the planets, and the rotational solar system will give us a better understanding in Science class. These items will add great value to our curriculum and give our students better opportunity for a more engaging learning environment. This donation will be a great help to my students and to other students here at our school. This will possibly give them the drive to learn or at least get them wanting to learn.
Please help our kids understand these important concepts in science.
These visuals, hands on activities, games, and posters will help engage the students in the classroom. Your help is of great value to our future.
