My Students

Our 3rd grade class is made up of 23 students from many cultures.

Families are large and have great responsibilities to their basic personal welfare. We are a very active bunch and love to explore with manipulatives and hands on activities. On a daily basis we work to make connections between our lessons and real life activities. We keep reminding our selves that the things we do the most are the things we do the best, so that when we struggle we know that it takes trying again to be successful.

My Project

Students will use these magna-tiles for hands-on math lessons of shapes and for classification. They will also use them to practice multiplication and division by making arrays and groups with the tiles. In science we will being working on forces, using these magnetic tiles will enhance their understanding of the science.

Our project will make a difference by providing materials that can not be purchased for home use by our class families.

Students will be able to connect with their learning, allowing more concepts to be made into long term knowledge.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
