My Students
These kids need your help. Hurricane Sandy destroyed their graphing calculators. Many of them have no home or clothes. These calculators are essential to the academic success. They are devastated over their loss because for most of them it was a hardship to buy them in the first place.
These are kids from Staten Island, New York.
They were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. They are children from primarily low-income homes. These children are trying to pull themselves up and achieve academic success in order to move onto college and flourish in society.
My Project
These calculator an be used on all state and National tests, including the SAT's. Without having this calculator, the students will not achieve the same success as others who have it. These students, at this point are already behind. Lack of this calculator will just add to their problems. These calculator change the way most students feel about math. If gives them the confidence they need to try to reach for the stars.
These kids are suffering.
While many generous people are supplying them with basic essentials, a calculator is not on their mind. However, to achieve academic success in their mathematics classroom, they need their calculators replaced. It will bring so much joy to these kids to think some generous soul cared enough to replace this for them.
