Your gift has already transformed our space in ways that words can hardly capture.\r\n\r\nBefore this project, our students had big ideas but limited tools to bring them to life. Now, with professional lighting at their fingertips, they are discovering how color, focus, and intensity can shape mood and storytelling. The excitement in the room is undeniable—students who once stayed quietly in the background are stepping forward to design, create, and lead.\r\n\r\nThis lighting system will not only elevate our upcoming productions, but it will also give students hands-on technical experience that builds confidence, collaboration, and real-world skills. The clothing you provided is being used every single day—not only helping students feel comfortable and confident, but also making sure they can come to school ready to learn without the stress of not having what they need.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stands out was when a student quietly asked if we had a clean hoodie they could borrow for the day. Their face lit up when they found something in their size, and they proudly wore it through the halls. What might seem small made that student feel included and cared for. These are the kinds of moments your kindness makes possible.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the closet stocked with fresh clothing, their reactions were priceless. There were smiles, laughter, and even some happy tears. They were surprised that people who don't even know them cared enough to give. That sense of being seen and supported truly matters.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps are to continue expanding the Care Closet so we can offer a reliable resource for every student who needs it. We are planning to connect the closet with classroom projects around kindness and community service, helping students not only receive but also give back—strengthening our school's culture of care.\r\n\r\nYour support has already made a powerful impact, and we can't thank you enough for being part of this journey with us.\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,","fullyFundedDate":1746786319683,"projectUrl":"project/care-closet/9148607/","projectTitle":"Care Closet","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Allie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9782117_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746792007886","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9782117"},{"teacherId":6214289,"projectId":8900547,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! Recent anecdotal evidence suggests that consuming sour candy may provide a temporary relief for some individuals experiencing these conditions. The intense sour flavor engages the senses, potentially diverting attention from anxious thoughts and grounding the individual in the present moment (Garone, 2024). This sensory engagement aligns with established grounding techniques, which emphasize redirecting focus to physical sensations as a means of managing anxiety (Timothy, 2024).\r\n\r\nThe physiological response to sour candy consumption may also play a role in its potential benefits. When individuals experience anxiety or panic, their amygdala—the brain's fear center—activates, often leading to heightened distress. Engaging with an intensely sour taste could help dampen this response by stimulating the frontal cortex to reassess perceived threats (Timothy, 2024). However, while this strategy may serve as an effective short-term distraction during acute episodes of anxiety or panic. So many times students come to my office feeling symptoms of panic or anxiety and providing a quick relief for them is essential. They have to be able to go back to class and focus. I Use the tissues and play doe as a form of stress relief and distraction.","fullyFundedDate":1727110942051,"projectUrl":"project/transforming-lives-one-session-at-a-tim/8814408/","projectTitle":"Transforming Lives, One Session at a Time. Your contribution has made a remarkable difference in our students' engagement and participation in these vital learning experiences.\r\nThe snacks have become an integral part of our SEL sessions, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere that encourages regular attendance. When the students first learned about the snacks, their eyes lit up with excitement – it was wonderful to see how something as simple as a healthy snack could generate such enthusiasm for learning. This small gesture has helped transform our optional SEL sessions into a highly anticipated part of their routine.\r\nI'd like to share a particularly meaningful moment from our recent stress management session. During this session, we practiced mindful eating with the provided snacks, teaching students to focus on the present moment while enjoying their treats. One student remarked, \"I never knew eating could be so peaceful!\" This simple exercise helped demonstrate how mindfulness can be incorporated into daily activities, making stress management techniques more accessible and relatable for our students.\r\nThe resources you've provided have been instrumental in creating a safe and nurturing environment where students feel comfortable exploring their emotions and developing crucial life skills. We've integrated the snacks into various SEL activities, using them not just as refreshments but as tools for learning. For instance, we've used sharing snacks as an opportunity to practice gratitude and develop social skills, turning simple interactions into valuable learning moments.\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to continue our SEL journey with a focus on self-awareness. We plan to use these resources to support activities that help students identify their emotions, recognize their strengths, and develop a growth mindset.
