Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Becoming life-long readers is the goal of our students. One way to do that is to form literature circles where students can read and share books.

We are an elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California.

We have a very diverse population. Many of our students are second language learners. Their families are from countries all around the globe.

My Project

These sets of will be used by the students in literature circles. A groups of students will choose the same book and will share their experiences with that book together. They will read separately and together, and will dig for meaning in the stories in a group setting.

This is a chance for students to become life-long readers.

What better way than for them to find a book that they love and share their excitement with other students. With a large selection of books they will surely find at least one that will become a favorite!
