This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember creating a special art piece as a child? You were probably so proud of your work. I want my students to experience that feeling of making their own masterpiece. We need oil pastels, paintbrushes, and watercolors to create inspirational art pieces.

Our school belongs to the "No Excuses University" program.

Our classroom has adopted the University of Wisconsin, and we have a college chant that we shout daily. I have 26 eager second graders in my class that are ready to learn, explore, and create. Our classroom motto is "Dream Big!" I don't want the students to put a limit on their future. I encourage them to dream big and work hard.

My Project

We learn about different artists in our class, write about the artist, and then create our own masterpieces imitating the artist. We also create seasonal art to brighten our room. The students love using different materials in the classroom to create their work of art. Many of the students do not have art materials at home, so they really treasure using these materials in the classroom!

The students will be able to take a break from working so hard and have a fun time using their right brain to create their own masterpiece.
