Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The tables and stools in my art room are not safe. My younger students are constantly losing their balance and falling off their stools. It is just a matter of time before the wobbly tables break at the joints.

My students live in a poverty stricken, urban neighborhood and many come from broken and unstable homes.

They attend a Title 1 school and are eligible for free lunch. Our school's population is made up of African American, Hispanic, and Kurdish students. Many of them are learning English as a second language. My students love art and are very creative!

My Project

If I had new tables in my art room, they would not wobble every time a student leans against them, making it difficult for the other students to draw. The stools in my room have no back support and my younger students have difficulty keeping their balance while sitting and doing their art work. If we had chairs instead of stools, this would not be a problem.

The tables and stools that are currently in my art room are unsafe.

With all of the budget cuts, I can not afford to get them replaced this year with out the help of generous donors.
