My Students

Glue sticks! They're such a simple concept, but oh so helpful!!!

I teach fourth grade in a rural, low-income area of Northern California.

We are considered a Title I school as the vast majority of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We also have a very high percentage of ESL (English as a Second Language) students.

My Project

My students create "lapbooks" as culminating review for both social studies and science. Lapbooks consist of "foldables" (pieces of construction paper folded into various shapes) that are used to house vocabulary, diagrams, and other essential content. They also add numerous pages to their Interactive Science Notebooks. Thirty-two students x 5-7 foldables for each unit x several units = lots of glue! We're down to a few glue sticks, which won't last us long! This proposal is a simple request for more glue sticks. I am asking for six packs of 30 glue sticks (plus a few extras) in order to keep us going. It is a basic supply, but one that is *very* necessary.

Your donation will ensure that my students have the adequate tools (glue sticks) to create their own social studies and science review in a fun, aesthetically pleasing, and helpful manner.
