Having a printer in the classroom really helps with all types of activities and projects. It greatly helps in a teacher's efficiency. It also allows the students to participate in special projects that require color printing, photos, or scanning!
My students are new to the country and learning English.
It is my job to prepare them for the regular education classroom. I currently have students from 5 countries speaking 5 different languages. This changes as I receive new students throughout the school year. Most of my students come to the United States with little or no English. Many of my students have never had a school experience in their native country. They attend an urban elementary school with 85% free/reduced lunch. My students are excited to learn and love to come to school!
My Project
I am requesting a new printer for our classroom use. Our current printer has stopped functioning. A printer is helpful to the teacher, and also provides the students with another way to express their learning. This printer that I am requesting is able to make color copies, print photos, and scan documents. Making color copies will enbable me to create posters that are relevant to the curriculum. Also, students will be able to print special projects in color. Some of our projects throughout the year require photos. Being able to print the photos quickly in the classroom, will allow more time to be spent on teaching and learning. Having a functioning printer with all the added features, will allow our classroom to run more smoothly and efficiently as well as allow for student participation in special projects.
This project is so important because my students deserve the best.
Our current classroom printer is not working, so we are not able to take advantage of this basic need. Also, having the added features on this new printer, enables my students to create special projects in color and with photos! Without your support, my students would not be able to utilize this necessary technology.
