Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Children now are more exposed to technology than ever before. Some are even more familiar with laptops and computers than they are with crayons and scissors. I am hoping to channel their eagerness to learn and do whatever I can to make sure they will always look forward to coming to school.

My students come from low-income families and many have low self-esteem.

Nothing hurts a teacher more than self-dejected students! I want them to see how intelligent they are, and a paper and pencil just doesn't motivate them as much as new technology could. A laptop would show them that we have enough faith in them to invest in their education.

My Project

A laptop would open up an entire world to my students! No longer will they have to learn to read by staring at tiny print on dusty pages, they will be exposed to reading, writing, math games, and so much more. Technology has advanced so much. Any student would be thrilled to come in to class and sit down to enjoy a good virtual book.

Students that don't believe in themselves are more likely to drop out of school in their teens.

I hope this laptop will teach kids that learning is fun, and can show them that they are worth time, effort, and yes, money, because they are worthy of an education - every child is.
