This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you know what its like to need technology to complete a school project and your parents do not have enough money to buy you what you need? My students need a video camera and a printer to complete our advertising unit, however, many of my students can not afford such technology.

My students are great!

They have mild disabilities but love to learn. Our school is a title one school. Most of my students receive lunch tickets because of their family income. We have a great school, however, with budget cuts, our school does not have a wealth of technology.

My Project

I am requesting two items. First, I am requesting a Sony video camera. My students will use the video camera to film student made commercials. The Sony camera is great because it does not need tape. We can connect the camera directly to my MacBook and use iMovie to edit the video/commercial in our classroom. We have three student computers and only two printers that work properly. My students need to type and print scripts for their commercials at school, because many of them do not have access to computers and printers at home.

This advertising project is important because my students will learn something new.

Many of them have never experienced video production. This project may inspire my students to go to college or trade school to learn video production. This project you fund will enrich my students education.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
