Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever been bullied? Most have! We despise it! Teasing, joking, making fun of someone, laughing at someones mistakes, ganging up against someone, making fun of ones gender, race, religion, their size, being too smart or not smart enough, almost everyone has had a bad memory of it-BULLYING!

Our students are from an urban section of Los Angeles known as Korea Town.

This area is prone to violence, theft, and graffiti..all components of bullying. Our students are a racial mixture of Korean, Latino, Filipino, Indian, African American students, as well as other ethnicities. Most of our students are from low income families where the struggles of life in an urban environment makes success in school and life more of a challenge. Our students do not have the same opportunities as those students have from strong socio-economic family backgrounds. I want our students to have a chance to show what they can learn and present their lessons and projects on anti-bullying to their fellow peers at assemblies and in their classroom.

My Project

If we are fortunate to have a donor, our students will be able to provide inspirational, creative, telling, and persuasive video presentations on anti-bullying with these portable projectors and micro SD card, and anti-bullying materials. The 3M ultra portable video camera and projector will offer multiple groups of students the opportunity to present all the different kinds or types of bullying that our children are exposed to. Having our students access the "Bullying in Schools" textbook and present anti-bullying practices using positive behavior at our school will "spread the word of positiveness" to most if not all of our student body.

Our project is so important because bullying has no place in our schools!

No child should ever be bullied! Surprisingly, most students do not know that they are bullying someone until they are either told they are or if they learn about it. Unfortunately teaching bullying takes a "back seat" to other important academic requirements however having this technology and the Bullying in Schools books allows students to learn and present in a unique and creative way for all to learn and grow together.
