Zebra Fish Breeding Project

My students need the zebra fish breeding kit to comprehend third grade level standards in life science, with a focus on structures of life.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students love hands-on science and this kit will provide opportunities to explore the natural world in the safety of the classroom. Third grade students need to observe the life cycle of zebra fish to comprehend their standards and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the environment.

Like all students, these children are fascinated by life science.

Yet they survive in the concrete jungle and have limited experience with plants and animals. The zebra fish breeding kit will provide an opportunity to investigate and observe animals they wouldn't have a chance to learn about where they dwell. The students live in an underprivileged environment and jump at the chance to explore on field trips and excursions.

My Project

The zebra fish breeding kit will provide an opportunity to investigate the life cycle of fish. The students will observe the eggs and examine the young fish in my aquarium, caring for them by feeding and changing the water. By having this important job, they will understand third grade level life science standards of the structure of life and gain an understanding that they are stewards of the environment.

Students require hands-on materials to understand third grade level life science standards.

The zebra fish breeding kit contains fish eggs that students can observe and then care for the fish in my aquarium. Students will have jobs so the fish survive and will be displayed on open house for all families to view. When completed, the students will understand their importance in caring for the environment and how animals need their support to survive.
