My Students

To develop a good sense of self at a young age, students must be given opportunities to explore and create on their own.

I feel fortunate to work with a wonderful group of kindergarten children in a language immersion school.

The students are learning their core subject areas like math, social studies and science through a second language. They are a thriving and happy bunch!

My Project

An arts program is invaluable to young children! It is through art activities that children develop their creativity and learn to appreciate the world around them. Making self portraits is one example. I am requesting People Colors Craft Paper and Colored Hair Crinkle Strips so that my students can make more accurate self representations. No longer will they be limited to only peach or brown as skin color choices. Rather, they will have a wide array of colors to choose from! In addition, the jumbo bottles of glitter will allow my students to freely decorate and express themselves. Other items that I am requesting include tangrams, pattern blocks and wiki stix. All of these materials will help to develop creativity in my students.

Budgets are being reduced more and more each year and schools are left scrambling to fund the bare necessities.
