Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent, Victor Hugo said, and my students use music everyday to express themselves. This software and keyboard will really help our students create and write our own music.

My students come from low income families.

A high percentage of students come from a poverty setting and are bused to our school. Our school is one of the most up-and-coming schools in the state in terms of test scores and academic achievement. It is rare to have such successful students in an urban setting. The success is because these students have a strong desire to further themselves and do great things with their lives.

My Project

This keyboard and software will really help our students create the music at the highest Blooms level possible. The students will easily be able to start in a program like garage band where there is assistive technology for them to use, and then progress into Sibelius where they are writing music that is note for note.

Our students often do not receive the best in assistive technology and this is opportunity for them to receive that.

This piano and software will greatly increase their ability to create their own music in the style. Please help these students get the tools they need to learn!
