This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Are you in the healthy fitness zone? Our students are being challenged in their physical education classes by different cardiovascular exercises and skills assessments. It is hard to help them learn what their lap pace or split time is during their running activities. A big clock/timer can help.

The students are among the East Los Angeles community.

They understand the importance of exercise but lack certain resources that can help them reach their fitness goals. The physical education department would like to help their students understand and promote fitness for life. Health is very important to us all.

My Project

A timer/clock can help provide a better understanding of their split times, lap pace, mile times, and other cardiovascular exercises. This visual aide can show students if they are improving, staying even, or increasing their times. Students can document from a distance into their portfolios of what time they had during their activity. Instantly, the students can see their progress.

As we all know, obesity is an epidemic among our young people.

Students are being diagnosed with diabetes and other health related conditions. A timer/clock can provide a little motivation for students to improve their cardiovascular endurance. Sometimes students just want to beat the clock or improve their time from previous activities. A item like a big timer can help students reach their fitness goals.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
