This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like to believe that you could become anything that you wanted to be? I would like to use technology to help my students discover that a higher education could open the door to countless career possibilities.

My students are inner city students.

Many of them have to ride the bus for over an hour to get to school. These students are exposed to many different urban dangers. These dangers include drug dealers, gang members, and thieves. However, despite all of these obstacles my students strive to obtain the grades that they need in order to gain entrance into the local university.

My Project

I am asking for the following resources : 1 LCD projector, 1 flash-drive, and 1 classroom laptop. These resources will allow my students to learn how to use technology that will help them across subject areas and grade levels. They will learn how to use power point, navigate the Internet, create movies, and research reports.

Many of my students do not have a computer or Internet access at home.

Our current school resources are extremely limited. The resources that I am requesting will provide students the opportunity to use technology within their projects. These projects will include researching careers and universities. Sometimes pictures speak much louder than words. The images projected on the screen will be of great help to all of my visual learners.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
