My Students

My students participate in independent learning center activities each day. These can include extra practice of phonics skills, reading comprehension, and even handwriting. By using the Magic Boards, my students will now practice these skills in a fun, exciting and engaging way.

I teach 1st grade at an AMAZING public school in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

I love the enthusiasm my students have towards learning. It is their enthusiasm that encourages me to look for ways to enhance my teaching and find great, innovative materials to make learning fun. Their love of learning is what drives me to give them the best because that is what they deserve!

My Project

I am requesting 2 Magic Boards for handwriting practice to go along with our 10 Magic Boards we already have. With the irresistible Magic Boards, kids will want to practice review skills over and over again! The magnetic “pencil” makes writing fun and simple and the easy-to-use eraser bar lets kids clear the board in seconds. My students will be able to use these Magic Boards in small learning groups or independently. I am also requesting Magic Board Phonics Practice Cards. These practice cards explore everything from vowel sounds to word families. They are self-checking and provide practice with 3-4 different words. Children just fill in the blanks to add the missing phonics sounds, then flip the card over to check their answers. These cards target standards in these areas: • Decoding • Phoneme blending • Word recognition • Identifying spelling patterns

Sometimes when I am teaching a difficult skill like blends or vowel sounds, I feel like I might need to perform some magic tricks to make sure all my students are engaged and learning.

With these new Magic Boards and learning cards, the magic will be in their hands!
