My students need various versions of Cinderella to identify similar literary elements and compare different versions of the same story from cultures around the world.

My students are bright young scholars ready to learn about the world.

Our class is made up of a diverse population from cultures that span the globe. From Japan to Australia, Egypt to India.... we learn from each other how different, yet alike we all are.

My Project

By reading different versions of the Cinderella story, students will not only understand the basic elements of fiction (setting, characters, plot, etc.) and be able to identify them in same story, they will be able to compare and contrast different versions of the same story from cultures around the world and understand how culture affects various aspects of literature.

I am excited for my students to be able study story elements in a meaningful way.

They will see how a story familiar to them is shared among many different cultures. I hope this project will broaden their view of literature and of the world and its people.
