Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from low income homes and often time they cannot print out resources or created materials due to not having either computers or ink cartridges. The other challenge facing my students is the lack of ink here at school.

My students are low income and qualify for free or reduced cost lunch.

Their families are working two to three jobs just to keep a roof over their heads. Most of my students do not have technology at home. They are motivated by work they complete on the computer and love to print out their finished projects for publication.

My Project

I have a group of 6th graders who love to create and print out things from computers. They want to be able to print out the products that they create from the computer and share them with their peers or families. Throughout the year, students create many projects according to the thematic units from the different subject areas. With the ink we are requesting the students will be able to print their accomplishments and feel proud of what they have created. Also, they can print out these finished products and will be able to look back later and remember the hard work, the time, and effort it took for them to create their projects.

The ink cartridges are really important to my classroom because without the generosity of donors we would not have enough ink to print.

We have to take turns printing out our created materials, but now maybe the whole class can print them out.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
