Learning with Noodles

My students need 60 soft foam noodles to enhance their swimming lessons and training.

My Students

Noodles are so simple, yet so useful and versatile as swimming tools. They may not have been around 30 years ago when some of us learned to swim, but if they were, we all may have been better off in the water.

Our pool full of learners are low income, wild about water, inter-city swimmers.

We have new and experienced swimmers from all backgrounds who share the experience of high school physical education. They are fortunate to have the opportunity to take swimming in high school, something most of us took for granted when it was required for graduation.

My Project

With 52 students per class, activities can get challenging. New equipment helps the students' focus and interest. Resources such as colorful noodles brighten a swimmer's day as the noodles are brought out to the pool deck to be used as training tools for anything from learning to tread water to arm stroke and strength. These simple foam noodles can be used in so many ways and for so many games.

Your donations will make a difference in our classes by adding much needed variety and stimulation to our learning.
