Punctuation Takes A Vacation... We Need Grammar Help Please!

My students need 8 special literacy book sets to learn the grammar now! Where does a period go? How about quotation marks? What are the different types of verbs? What is an adjective? A predicate?

My Students

Writing is easy.... grammar is hard! Periods, quotation marks, verbs, adjectives, nouns, question marks, verb tense, adverbs, pronouns, predicates... do you know how, when and where to use all of these? I see my students struggle with these concepts endlessly while trying to perfect their writing!

My students are good kids.

They're very good kids! There are some that joke around a little too much, some that may talk at the wrong times, others that forget things and some that don't always give their best effort all the time... they are kids. They all mean well and are always there to lend a hand, an ear or their mind to others in need. They want to help, they want to feel important and - most of the time- they want to learn! They represent many walks of life. My class is literally a melting point of nationalities. Spanish, Asian, African-American, East Asian... you name it, they're in my class! They clamor to help me, they clamor to help their classmates to give them a pencil, direct them follow instructions or assist them with a challenging project, task or assignment. I have students whose parents are bakers, police officers, executives, actors, medical professionals, cab drivers and many of who are recent immigrants.

My Project

OK, this isn't the most exciting project that you'll find on Donor's Choose today. However, because all of us teachers learned the rules of grammar, we are able to write these fascinatingly interesting, engaging and motivating essays that make you want to help us and support the education of our students. These books will teach my students how to use grammar, punctuation and other skills and strategies that will turn my students from storytellers and decent writers into authors of the highest regard. With proper use of grammar and punctuation, their stories will become so much more enjoyable, readable and - eventually - publishable!

Grammar is critical to powerful, engaging and meaningful writing... please give my students this tremendous gift.

This gift will be the final piece to bringing my students' writing to the next level. Using these books will give them the ability to edit and revise their stories - the skill used by the best of the best writers - to make them amazing!
