My Students

A library card is like a passport to the world, and my Kindergarten students can't wait to start their literary travels!

I have a class of 32 incredible Kindergarteners.

They love learning new things, and they are particularly invested in learning to read. I have spent the past several years collecting a wonderful classroom library, and my students love looking through each book. For many of my students, this classroom book collection is their very first library experience. I know that in order for them to grow as readers, they need to be immersed in words at home, as well as at school. For that reason, I am on a mission to turn our classroom book shelves into a true lending library.

My Project

The materials I've requested will allow my Kindergarteners to take new books home each week. They will be able to practice their letter and word recognition skills, and share the reading experience with family members. On top of that, our check-out system will help them to learn accountability and responsibility. Taking classroom books home will reinforce the idea that books don't just below to the teacher; they are meant for everyone to enjoy!

Becoming a life-long reader is the greatest gift we can give to a child!

I am thrilled that my Kindergarteners are already invested in the world of great books. Please help me create an organized, eye-catching lending library so that they can love their books at home, as well as at school!
