My Students

What parent doesn't love a masterpiece made by their child? What child does not enjoy creating a masterpiece to be proud of? Many lessons I teach have the arts integrated in. This engages students and fosters learning and creativity. I purchased our small supply of art supplies that are going fast.

We are S.T.A.R.S.

which stands for students through arts reach success. I teach 22 wonderful students in 2nd grade. Our school is an arts integrated magnet school. We get a very limited budget at the beginning of school that is spent mostly on basic supplies for students such as paper, notebooks, and pencils. My students are always eager to learn new things. In my classroom I try to reach all learners and they love creating. Students love to show what they have learned through the art they create. This imagination is crucial to the 21st century student.

My Project

My students need paints to create backdrops for readers theater. They need water colors and paint brushes to create masterpiece illustrations to go with their writings and to create books. They need a pencil sharpener that works to help keep pencils and colored pencils sharp, and so that they can show how sharp they are. They need paper to create the backdrops and masterpieces on. The arts are a way that every student can shine. We like to inquire, inspire, and ignite our learning.

We use our imagination to inspire and learn. As 21st century learners we are using creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills to help foster our education. These supplies will help my students create masterpieces and star productions for others to enjoy.
