My Students

It's GAME time! Children rarely get to sit down with thier family and play a board game. Board games challenges the minds of the children in many different ways. It seems lately that everything is electronic. I want to bring back the board games and teach the children how to play them!

I have 22 children in my classroom.

Our school is a Title One school with fifty two percent free and reduced lunches. The children are willing and eager children who want to learn to play board games. These games will also be used for future classes.

My Project

I want to teach our children how to sit down and play a board game instead of the constant lights and sounds from video games, television and computers. Children can learn many skills by playing board games. They will learn social skills, math and literacy skills and brainstorming. All these skills are so important now and twenty years from now. These children need to learn the basics in Kindergarten!

Children desperately need to learn different social skills besides sitting in front of the the television playing video games.

Once they learn how to play in the classroom they would be able to teach thier family at home.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
