My Students

Do you remember the first time you discovered more to your world than just your neighborhood? Many of my students don't understand that there is a whole world out there for them to discover.

My third graders love to come to school and learn.

We are a Title One campus with high risk students who have lots of needs. We are considered the lowest socio-economic school in our town. These students appreciate what they are given and deserve to have the best.

My Project

Can you imagine growing up never knowing there is more out there than just a move from house to house in your neighborhood? My students need an atlas to see that the world consists of more than just our community. We do daily geography and our one wall map just isn't enough for the students to really see what is out there. This particular selected atlas offers information along with vivid color coding to each of the locations in the world. So, when I ask the students to find Europe, it is color coded so that I can direct them to a page and color to help them to locate it easily.

These kids deserve the opportunity to use a reference book that many of us take for granted.

They should be able to utilize their own atlas so that they can get an up close glimpse of what our world consists of.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
