My third graders are hard workers who are extremely eager to learn, but struggle with reading. My desire is to instill a love of reading and allow as many opportunities to apply their skills as possible. I want to reach as many of my students as possible. Our school is the poorest in our district, but our students are the sweetest. These students start out with a disadvantage-many of their parents don't speak English and several don't read. Because of this, our parents are not involved as much as in other schools, so what they get at school is the extent of what they get. I want my students to have any advantages that I can provide and with your help, we could give them a few more. After all, they are worth it!

About my class
