My class loves writing stories and poetry as well as creating presentations and reports using computer technology. Unfortunately we don't have a classroom digital camera. We use my own camera when necessary, but we need a readily available camera for student use.
I teach fifth grade in a public school classroom.
Currently there are 21 students in my class. It is a happy class full of children who enjoy learning and each other. We use computer technology to enhance the learning in the classroom each day. My students enjoy being creative and and aspire to do their best at school. The children come from a variety of backgrounds and family structures.
My Project
I am a big proponent of using technology in the classroom and I do like to stress the creative side of using technology. We need a classroom digital camera so that students can take their own photos to insert into digital storywriting projects that we work on throughout the year. We use sites like Animoto to create digital poetry and present them as music videos, Glogster to create interactive digital report posters, and other programs where can can take photos and insert them into presentations to report on field trips or other special events for our classroom blog. I would like the students to have immediate access to using a digital camera and not have to rely on my own personal camera to complete their projects.
A classroom digital camera would enhance the many creative projects in my classroom.
Students love doing these projects and it essential that they have a readily available camera to capture the moments and further the learning in our classroom.
