it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how important your parents looked as they were reading the daily newspaper, the conversations that they had with each other about things that were happening around the world? That is what I want to my kindergarten students. I want them to love to read about current events.
My classroom is a wonderful community that works hard together with limited supplies.
My students come from lower income families that want their children to strive to do better. The students come to kindergarten and want to learn. They come with opens minds that are ready to be filled.
My Project
My students will be able to become real life readers through the purchase of the scholastic news. The students will be able to take this home with them and share their new found knowledge with friends and family. I want these precious children to love learning and be exposed to current events that are happening around us. The scholastic news gives my students the opportunity to learn about science and history at their level.
With this wonderful opportunity for my classroom the donors will have a part in encouraging students to learn more about their city and country.
They will be exposed to material that will enrich their everyday learning. They will be the leaders of their own learning.
