Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember your Mom taking you to the local library? Well those fond memories do not exist for a lot of children today due to busy schedules and parental stresses. Please help my students enjoy the library experience, by supporting this project.
My students are 24 beautiful and curious first graders.
Although they are considered economically disadvantaged, they do not know it. They have a rich desire to learn and do their best. My students love coming to school where they feel safe and secure in a place where they receive daily doses of knowledge, encouragement, and friendship.
My Project
Everyone knows that basic reading skills should be accomplished in the first grade. This is why exposing the world of books and reading to students at this age is so crucial.My students need more reading practice! These 22 new and carefully selected book titles will definitely help my first graders develop of love of reading at a young age.Slowly, my students are realizing that reading is a reward, something that they "get" to do.

While some classrooms receive parental donations, this is not the case with most high poverty neighborhoods. The public library is over a mile away, which is far for families without a car.My students need more reading practice!
