Was math your least favorite subject in school? Many students today are having to take an additional class to reinforce skills not mastered in a previous grade level. Desire, excitement, and determination are some of the qualities learners need to be successful within the intervention classroom.
All students in my grade level are exceptionally talented and truly unique.
My campus currently has an enrollment of 1000 students receiving a public education in grades 6-8. Since we are not a Title I campus, it is difficult to fund all resources necessary to reach individual needs.
Approximately fifty percent of my learners are in an intervention math class. This signifies that they have not mastered some of the necessary math skills, or concepts, needed to correlate with their current grade level.
My Project
The set of teacher workbooks that I am requesting will allow myself and other educators to quickly assess strengths and areas of concern for each student in math intervention. Results will enable us to create group games, which will be student led, utilizing the Complete Middle School Question Quest Game Set.
Students will learn that areas of question can be improved upon when taking one concept at a time. Understanding and confidence can be gained from this peer tutoring opportunity.
Your donation to this project will impact all intervention math students on my campus.
These tools can allow approaches to higher order thinking be acquired in a fun and challenging learning environment. Your support shows our future leaders how much we depend upon their education.
