This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember learning math with a pencil and a paper? I do...but I don't want my students to.

Our students are extremely hard working and eager to learn.

We are a second grade class at a high needs school (became a Title I as of this year). Our population is heavily made up of English learner students. Like most students, ours learn more effectively with materials in their hands.

My Project

We are requesting enough Lego base plates and blocks so every student may have their own set to use. With these Lego blocks our students will be able to see more math situations right in front of them. They will begin to make math connections to the real world and begin to see its importance. We will also use these blocks during reading time. We'll play games like Make the Word First.

Your help will ensure that my students come to school motivated and ready to learn.

By having a large variety of engaging math manipulatives, students will eagerly look forward to our next lessons in math, reading, and everywhere else we can implement these diverse resources.
