My Students

After viewing Planet Earth with my classroom, I realized the tremendous potential quality DVDs have on students' scientific understanding.

I teach an amazing group of fourth and fifth grade students in a self-contained highly capable program.

My students absolutely love science! The problem is we have limited resources and the resources we do have are too basic for my students. Highly capable students are extremely intelligent and I want to feed their hunger for knowledge.

My Project

I have selected five outstanding DVDs that compliment my two year curriculum. I selected them with my students in mind--challenging and interesting but still appropriate for children. These DVDs will provide my students with up-to-date factual information from the experts. They will also take my students virtually to amazing places to witness nature. All the DVDs have stunning photography which I believe is important to capture students' attention.

I believe we should be teaching more science in elementary school, not less.

With your donation I can strengthen my science program, challenge my students and encourage them to respect and protect our environment.
