My Students

Remember the quote, "All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten"? Learning letters and their sounds in kindergarten builds a foundation for future learning. English is a second language for many of my students, so having this hands-on tool of Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs would help them along the path to literacy.

I am a first-year teacher at a high poverty school, and I love going to work each day because of my students!

They love school, and they are eager to learn. My students are inquisitive, and love hands-on learning. They are so appreciative of every opportunity that they are given!

My Project

Students will be able to explore and learn letters and letter sounds by identifying and sorting the manipulative toys provided in the alphabet tubs. The sounds will "come to life" as students hold the objects and say their names out loud. This will also help to increase vocabulary skills. There are 26 tubs with a total of 208 letters and manipulatives, and each tub is labeled with the correct uppercase and lowercase letter. Students can also look under each lid to see the words that correspond to the objects. I can't wait to see the excitement on my students' faces when they use this new resource!
