My students need a working listening center in order to listen to classic and favorite literature read aloud and in order to follow along in their favorite books.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When I am working with small groups of students, the other students have choices of learning activities. One of their favorites is the listening center. Unfortunately, ours died and there is no money in the school budget to replace it.
Our school is in an urban school district in Texas.
It is classified as low socio-economic. My students are predominately second language learners and would greatly benefit from more exposure to the english language through the requested listening center.
My Project
Think of your favorite book as a child. Now imagine being able to hear that book as often as you'd like and following along in the actual book until you could read that book to yourself. That is the power of a listening center. My students can benefit tremendously by having this deluxe listening center. Once students see themselves as readers there are no limits to the possibilities that lie ahead.
Please help us!
We need to nurture that love of reading for reading's sake and for fun so that these kids can become better readers thereby improving their chance at a better life. Thank you for your interest and support.
