This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever worked in cramped conditions? Well, my students do just that. Our classroom is small and they work at tables where there is no space to store their supplies. These chair pockets would be perfect for my students to store their supplies, and it would open up valuable space for them.

My students are from the inner city in Massachusetts.

They want to do well, and they come in each day willing to learn. Our school is a public school and there are about 400 students in our school. I have 25 students in my room and our quarters are a bit cramped. They become frustrated with the lack of space and I know they would perform better with the added space. I want to give them every opportunity to succeed because I know that an opportunity is all they want.

My Project

The chair pockets would open up my classroom in so many ways. My students struggle to find any space to put their supplies (notebooks, folders, books, etc.) My students work at individual table desks that do not have any space for storage. Therefore, they have a difficult time doing their work. There desks become cluttered easily and I see the frustration on their faces immediately. The chair pockets would be an excellent tool to alleviate this problem.

Donating to this project will not only help my current students but will also help my students in the future.

This project would potentially help hundreds of students in the years to come.
