Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

WE NEED INK! We have had a lovely printer for 3 years but no color ink to make anything look really nice and understandable for our students! They commonly use a Picture Exchange Communication System however we have had to print them in black ink.

My students have disabilities ranging from Down Syndrome to Autism.

They are wonderful and they come from low income households. Supplies are not coming to our school any more and much of the materials has to be bought by the teachers or accepted from grants.

My Project

Having color ink will make everything more understandable and attractive and motivating for our students. We make a lot of our own books because most of the materials need to be modified. However, only having black ink limits us to very boring non attractive books. Some students that are learning their colors need us to color in their PECS before laminating them, which is just a very ugly way of allowing the color to be on the PEC. This is such a necessary supply, however, with the district budget cuts INK is the last thing on any administrators mind. I have tried numerous times to get a grant for ink but some grants wont even except ink as a grant. I really want for my kids to have more attractive looking books that really get good use throughout the years. It is very important, especially when making Thier books so that they can communicate which is the most important part of their school curriculum.

Communication is one of the most important things to the human race.

Having these color ink cartridges will allow us to make materials that are best for our students. It will add to many many hours of learning and curriculum. I have wanted this grant for years, and have tried numerous times to get something like this funded. I am so glad to have the opportunity on donors choose to do this. THANKS SO MUCH!
