This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is the future and it is changing every day. Young learners need to by technologically savvy in order to succeed in school and compete in today's job market. Since most of my students do not have access to technology at home it is crucial that they have this access and education at school.

I teach third grade in a low-income, high needs, title-one school in California.

With increased class size my job of engaging all learners has become more difficult. My students are eager learners who love learning about and using technology. Immediate access to the wealth of knowledge that the Internet provides and new technological tools available on an Apple laptop are the resources my students need to enhance their academic success.

My Project

In order for my students to bridge the increasing "technology gap" they need access to the same resources available to students in high income areas. Currently, my students do not have access to the Internet in the classroom and many do not have Internet access at home. The software available on an Apple laptop combined with the LCD projector we are fortunate to have will enable our entire class to gain access to twenty-first century technology. Whole class, small group, and individual technology based projects will be a possibility with an Apple laptop.

Access to current technology is a crucial part of a child's education.
