Students often choose this spot to take a break, read together, or enjoy some well-earned quiet time. The fulfillment of this project means a lot to our fifth grade students and teachers.\r\n\r\nNew equipment is a luxury. When our school purchases new equipment, be it balls, hula hoops, or jump ropes, it gets used by all the grade levels and our after school programs. New equipment quickly becomes old equipment when so many children cycle through them. New equipment quickly becomes old equipment when so many children do not use it correctly. Old equipment gets thrown out when it inevitably becomes damaged. \r\n\r\nWe are particularly grateful for this project fulfillment because we are reserving this equipment to be used by ONLY 5th graders under the careful distribution of our 5th grade teachers. The fifth graders will be responsible and accountable for any damage as they are the only ones using this equipment.\r\n\r\nAfter going through very careful explanations of how this new equipment was acquired and how the students are going to be accountable for it, the delight on the children's eyes was palpable. After oohing and ahhing over the new balls, jump ropes, pinnies, kickball bases, and 5th grade dedicated equipment shelf, their play has been more active and productive.
