Your support has truly transformed our classroom. The new pillows, sturdy metal bookshelf, cozy lamp, and colorful sit-upons have created a warm, inviting space that my students absolutely love. Each day, I see them eagerly grab a sit-upon to spread out across the room for small group work or quiet reading time. The sturdy bookshelf has been a huge upgrade — I've been slowly replacing our old, wobbly wooden shelves each year, and this one will last for many more classes to come.\r\n\r\nThe pillows and lamp have made our reading corner feel calm and welcoming. Students often choose this spot to take a break, read together, or enjoy some well-earned quiet time. It's become a favorite reward area, and I can see how much pride they take in caring for it.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students have a comfortable, functional, and joyful learning space where they can focus, collaborate, and grow. The fulfillment of this project means a lot to our fifth grade students and teachers.\r\n\r\nNew equipment is a luxury. When our school purchases new equipment, be it balls, hula hoops, or jump ropes, it gets used by all the grade levels and our after school programs. New equipment quickly becomes old equipment when so many children cycle through them. New equipment quickly becomes old equipment when so many children do not use it correctly. Old equipment gets thrown out when it inevitably becomes damaged. \r\n\r\nWe are particularly grateful for this project fulfillment because we are reserving this equipment to be used by ONLY 5th graders under the careful distribution of our 5th grade teachers. The fifth graders will be responsible and accountable for any damage as they are the only ones using this equipment.\r\n\r\nAfter going through very careful explanations of how this new equipment was acquired and how the students are going to be accountable for it, the delight on the children's eyes was palpable. After oohing and ahhing over the new balls, jump ropes, pinnies, kickball bases, and 5th grade dedicated equipment shelf, their play has been more active and productive. They love having their own equipment!\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for fulfilling this project as there is no better feeling than being the first kids to use new sports equipment!","fullyFundedDate":1758862385122,"projectUrl":"project/sportin-some-new-pe-equipment/9440821/","projectTitle":"Sportin' Some New PE Equipment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tsao","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3259375"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4149","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":402,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":56,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.5,"schoolId":4149,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sun Terrace Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sun Terrace Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/mount-diablo-unified-school-district/sun-terrace-elementary-school/4149"}
